Rock climbing harness is a safety equipment that supports a climbers legs as they do the mounting from one rock to another. The durable adjustable leg loops provide easy mounting and movements for each user. Basically, there are three types of rock climbing harness, a sit rock, a chest rock, and the full body harness.

For recreational rock climbing, a sit rock climbing harness is used. The sit rock climbing harness is usually made of a waist belt and a two leg loop. It is usually connected to the front of your hips through a belay loop or a carabiner.

The chest rock climbing harness is usually worn around every climbers shoulders. Chest rock usually works together in combination with the sit rock climbing harness.

The combination of this two types of harness provides extra attachment way much higher than the climber's body which is very much valuable as they allow you to balance your body better especially when you are carrying a heavy backpack.

The full body rock climbing harness is a combination of both sit harness and a chest harness. This type of harness is usually used in a rescue and emergency operations or situations and on industrial work.

Finding the right fit for a climbing harness is an important thing to consider when buying a climbing harness. If your harness is too tight, you'll definitely have problems with your mounting and movements. Your movements might be restricted which could be so uncomfortable on your part. However, if your harness is too loose or too large for you, you might put yourself into a complicating situations like falls and diaphragm compression.
